Terms of use

The rules, kept short

These terms are the agreement between you and Embedded Tech Consulting Pte. Ltd. about using the Breez app and this website. We have written them in plain English.

Last updated 27 October 2026.

1. Using Breez means you agree

By installing or using Breez, or this website, you agree to these terms, to our licence agreement (EULA) and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use them. If you use Breez for a company or a household, you confirm you can agree for it. You must be old enough to make a binding agreement where you live, or have a parent’s or guardian’s permission.

2. Your licence

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Breez on devices you own or control, to control air conditioners you own or have permission to control. Your app store’s rules for apps you download also apply.

The full licence is in our licence agreement (EULA). It applies to Breez on every platform, Android included. The EULA and these terms work together. If they say different things about the licence, the EULA wins. If you are a consumer, the protections for consumers in the EULA and in these terms apply to both.

You may not:

  • copy, change, rent or sell Breez;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, take apart, change or make anything based on Breez, or take out its code, model data, keys or protocols;
  • use AI or any automated tool, such as a machine-learning model, a large language model or automated code or traffic analysis, to analyse, decompile, deobfuscate, summarise, copy or train on Breez’s code, its model data or its traffic with our services;
  • get around the checks that make sure a device is genuine, or use Breez on a device that has been modified to hide from them;
  • use Breez in a way that breaks the law or other people’s rights.

This does not cover your own homes and files, ordinary use, or the normal features of your device and app store (see section 4 of the EULA).

These rules apply only as far as the law allows: section 5 of the EULA explains what the law lets you do despite them. Breaking the rules on taking Breez apart, taking things out of it, using AI or automated tools on it, or getting around its checks is a material breach, and your licence ends at once. Breez includes open-source parts. Each is covered by its own licence, which applies to that part instead of the rules in this section.

3. Using it sensibly

  • Only control air conditioners you own or are allowed to control. If you make a Guest Pass, you must have the right to let your guests use the equipment.
  • Keep your share codes and cards to the people you mean. Whoever holds a code can use what it unlocks until it ends.
  • Do not overload, probe or try to break our services, and do not use them to store anything other than Breez homes.
  • We may remove a file from our sharing service, or block a device from it, if it is not a Breez home or is being used to abuse the service. We cannot see inside locked files, so we act only on how the service is used. To report misuse, write to us.
  • Breez is a convenience remote. Do not rely on it where a missed change could hurt a person, an animal or valuable equipment, such as medical needs or a server room. Keep a normal way to control the air conditioner.

4. Other companies’ equipment and services

Breez works with air conditioners and services made by other companies. We are not affiliated with them and they do not endorse Breez. Their terms apply to their products. They can change or switch off things Breez relies on without notice, and features marked Beta may not work for everyone or may change. Using equipment with a controller its maker did not provide may affect the maker’s warranty, so check yours.

5. Changes to Breez

We may update Breez, change or remove features, and change or stop the services behind sharing, sign-in and the genuine-device check, to keep Breez secure, fix faults, follow changes made by air conditioner makers, app stores or the law, or improve it. A change costs you nothing extra. We will try to give notice when a change affects what you use. Some Daikin features need an internet connection from time to time (see the privacy policy) and are not offered on modified devices.

If you pay for a plan and a change affects your use of Breez more than in a minor way, we will tell you in advance. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you can then end your plan free of charge within 30 days of our notice or of the change, whichever is later, and we will make sure you get back a fair share of what you paid for the time you will not use, through the store or from us.

6. Payments and subscriptions

Breez is free to download. You can use it for free for one home with up to two air conditioners with full control, and join any number of homes as a guest with a Guest Pass for the length of the stay. For more, you buy a plan in the app:

  • Breez Pro: more homes and air conditioners, and sharing a home with your household. It can be shared through Apple Family Sharing or Google Play Family Library.
  • Breez Host: everything in Pro, plus making Guest Pass cards for guests. It cannot be shared that way.

Breez Pro and Breez Host are sold as a monthly or annual subscription, and also as a one-time purchase (see below). This is how the subscriptions work:

  • Who bills you. You buy in the app, and Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) takes the payment and bills you, under their terms. We never see your card or payment details. The store shows the price, the length of each period and what is included, in your own currency, before you confirm. Breez uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.), a service that tells the app which plan you have bought.
  • Renewal. A subscription renews at the end of each period, for the same length, until you cancel. Cancel before the renewal date, which the store shows you, to avoid the next charge. The price for each period is shown by the store before you subscribe and may change. The store will tell you before a higher price applies, and ask for your consent where its rules or the law require.
  • Managing and cancelling. Do it in your App Store or Google Play account settings, under subscriptions. Deleting Breez does not cancel a subscription. On a new device, choose Restore Purchases in Breez to bring your plan back.
  • Refunds. Apple or Google takes the payment, so ask them for a refund under their policies. We cannot refund a payment they took. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country that gives you a right to cancel or a right to a refund for faulty digital content, those rights are not affected. The store shows you how to use them, and you can also write to us.
  • When you cancel. You keep what you paid for until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • When a subscription ends. Nothing is deleted or hidden: every home and air conditioner stays in Breez. After a grace period, Breez pauses control of whatever is above the free limits (one home and two of its air conditioners stay under your control). You can still see those air conditioners’ state, and you can always remove an air conditioner, delete a home, leave a guest home, edit your units and groups, or revoke a Guest Pass card. A printed Guest Pass card on the wall keeps working for guests. Control comes back as soon as you subscribe again, or when you are back inside the free limits.

One-time purchase. A one-time purchase does not renew. It lasts as long as we offer Breez and its services on your platform. If we stop, we will give at least 90 days’ notice in the app.

These terms add to the store’s own terms for purchases and do not replace your rights under them or under consumer protection law.

7. What belongs to whom

Breez, its design and its content belong to Embedded Tech Consulting Pte. Ltd. or the people who license them to us. Your homes and what you put in them belong to you. Other companies’ names and marks belong to them.

8. What we promise about Breez

Breez is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we do not promise that it will be free of faults, always available, or work with every air conditioner or network, and we give no warranty other than those the law says we cannot exclude.

9. Limits on our responsibility

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for loss that is indirect or that we could not reasonably have foreseen, nor for lost profit, lost data, or damage to your equipment or property caused by using Breez. Our total responsibility to you for anything connected to Breez is limited to what you paid us for it in the 12 months before the problem arose, or S$100 if you paid nothing.

Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that cannot be limited by law, for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for loss we cause deliberately or through gross negligence. If you are a consumer, your rights under consumer protection law are not affected.

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, section 8 and the limit above do not apply to you. Instead, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care, and Breez must meet the standards the law of your country sets for digital content and services. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses.

10. Ending

You can stop using Breez at any time by deleting the app. (Deleting it does not cancel a subscription: do that in the App Store or Google Play, see section 6.) We may suspend or stop your access to our services if you break these terms or misuse them. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as 7 to 9 and 11, do.

11. Singapore law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts there. Otherwise, the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the law, the app stores or Breez change. We will change this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you are a consumer and a change is to your disadvantage, it does not apply to a period you have already paid for, and you can end your plan and get back a fair share of what you paid for the time you will not use. Otherwise, continuing to use Breez after the change means you accept it.

13. Apple devices

If you got Breez from the App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for Breez, its support, and any claim about it, including product liability, legal compliance, consumer protection, privacy and intellectual property claims. Your licence covers Apple devices you own or control, as the App Store’s Usage Rules allow, including Family Sharing. If Breez fails to meet a warranty, you can tell Apple and Apple will refund what you paid for it, if anything. Apple has no other warranty obligation, and we are responsible for any other claim, loss or cost that comes from a failure to meet a warranty. You confirm you are not in a country under a US embargo, or one the US government calls a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on a US list of prohibited or restricted parties. When you use Breez you must follow the terms of any third-party service you use with it, such as your mobile or internet provider. Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these terms, and the EULA, against you as third-party beneficiaries.

14. General

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over Breez; your rights will not be reduced. Not enforcing a term straight away does not mean we give it up.
